On the eve of the VERY long-awaited NEW MUTANTS movie release, we finally take an in-depth look at the classic comic book story-arc that serves as it's inspiration, the "Demon Bear" story from issues 18-20 of "New Mutants" (1983). Writer Chris Claremont and artist Bill Sienkiewicz (making his debut on the book) gave readers an intense horror tale the likes of which hadn't been seen in an X-book, as the entire team must rally to protect their fallen comrade Dani Moonstar from a murderous demonic entity from her past. We read the story arc, discussing how it helped finally establish "New Mutants" as more than JUST another X-Men spin-off, how immediately revolutionary Sienkiewicz's artwork was...and what the heck is the deal with Tom Corsi and Sharon Friedlander, two of the strangest supporting characters in X-Men history.

Plus, talk of the various highlights from DC's online Fandome event, plus news of a new Wolverine comic title. All this and more, so listen on.

With Channing Tatum's oft-delayed GAMBIT movie a fading memory of our past, in this episode we turn to a recent X-Men fan film - GAMBIT: PLAY FOR KEEPS - in order to get our live-action fix of the ragin' Cajun. Along with Gambit, the short film features a few other comic book favorites like Rogue, Magik, and...uhhh...Eric Roberts? Anyway, we discuss whether or not the film accurately captures the spirit of the characters, and what impressed us most this apparent labor of love.

Plus, Trev covers some of the highlights (or low-lights) of the recent HOLLYWOOD REPORTER article detailing Bryan Singer's horrible behavior on the first two X-Men movies, and Joe discusses his recent trip to the "Marvel: Universe of Super Heroes" exhibit at Dearborn, Michigan's Henry Ford Museum. All this, and more!
