As the world hunkers down into a pandemic-created quarantine, we've decided to spend this valuable time diving into one of the strangest pieces of X-Men history, the April 1983 one-shot "Obnoxio the Clown vs. The X-Men." This issue saw the mascot of the then recently-cancelled Marvel humor magazine "Crazy" invited to the X-Mansion to perform for Kitty Pryde's birthday. Unfortunately, he just so happens to arrive at the same time a bizarre villain named Eye-Scream is planning an attack on the X-Men....and (allegedly) wacky hijinks ensue. We discuss both the one-shot and the history of the Obnoxio character in general, in order to decipher why this issue even happened, and why Obnoxio is mostly forgotten about today.
Plus, we of course have to talk about the recent coronavirus cancellation of THE NEW MUTANTS' upcoming release. Is this movie truly cursed?
