It's the Christmas season, and Santa has brought Trev & Joe a very special guest for their latest episode: Jelli, from the Second Run Podcast. Together, the guys discuss the recently released first official trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse. Then, they take a look at two classic X-Men Christmas stories - "Demon," from Uncanny X-Men #143, and "Have Yourself a Morlock Little X-Mas," from the animated series. Plus, the current theater-going experience is critiqued, and Joe once again mounts an attack against Marvel's Agents of SHIELD. All this and more, on the Days of Future Podcast Holiday Special!

In this episode, Trev & Joe discuss how they feel about cosmic X-Men stories versus the more traditional earth-bound stories, and why recent real-world events in particular lead them to prefer one over the other. Also, they attempt to recast the original Star Wars trilogy with X-Men characters, and find they simply cannot agree on who should play Luke Skywalker. Plus, thoughts on recent rumors that Bryan Singer plans to stay on to direct more X-Men movies after Apocalypse, and Joe explains why he's excited about the upcoming New Mutants movie. All this, and way more Mystery Science Theater 3000 talk than one should ever reasonably expect to hear on an X-Men podcast.

This week's opening theme, X-Men: The Slaminated Series, was created by R0CKET SAUCE!!! Check out their amazing Space Jam remix albums, and more, at http://r0cketsauce.bandcamp.com/

In this super-sized episode, Trev & Joe are joined by a special guest and real-life girl, Christina Himmelspach (@stinaspach), in order to finally give the show some female perspective. The three provide, for its 21st anniversary, a full in-depth breakdown of the four-part adaptation of The Dark Phoenix Saga from the '90s X-Men: Animated Series, discussing its highs, lows, and weird decisions. Also, in the second ever episode of Chatting Tatum, the choice of Doug Liman to direct Gambit analyzed (and Tatum is fawned over, of course). The trio also ponder whether the Deadpool movie is being primarily marketed to "dude-bro's," and answer some listener questions regarding potential Deadpool cameo's in future X-films, Quicksilver's magic walk-man, and the "Rogue Cut" of Days of Future Past. And, Christina talks cosplaying, Trev defends himself against an infamous slanderous story that Joe won't let die, and the trio discuss the recent Shia LeBeouf "All My Movies" event. All this and more, on (perhaps) the most estrogen-friendly episode yet!

This week's theme song, Songs You Didn't Know Had Lyrics: X-Men, comes from Fox's Animation Domination High Def. Check it out at:

In this episode, Trev & Joe take a break from comics and movies and take a look at a couple X-Men related games. First, Joe reviews the Days of Future Past mobile game, before both guys recount their recent misadventure playing the Uncanny X-Men Alert Adventure Game, a 1992 board game more memorable for the figurines it contains than the game-play itself. Plus, "Ghoul Pools" are discussed, Joe details his sordid history with Heather Graham, Trev is flabbergasted to discover Whose Line Is It Anyway is still on the air, the guys argue about Johnny Depp AGAIN, and Joe takes Trev to task for attending a VHS swap-meet. So grab your Diet Mountain Dew, stock up on your Hit Chips, and give it a listen!

In this episode, Trev & Joe struggle to figure out what exactly a Days of Future Podcast Halloween Special even is. Scary X-Men stories, X-Men related costumes, and trick or treating mutants are all discussed, before finally the guys just give up and talk about the big news everyone really wants to hear about: Bryan Cranston's public declaration he wants to play Mr. Sinister, and the announcement of two new X-Men television series. But first, Joe advocates a revolutionary idea for TV broadcasting, the guys complain about snow, and Trev takes his damn time eating a Nilla Wafer. All this and more, on one of the least committed Halloween specials ever.

In this episode, Joe provides a full review of the original runs of Excalibur and X-Factor, which he finished mere minutes before recording! He then ranks all of the ongoing X-Men titles in the year 1998, where he currently resides in his Big X-Men Catch-Up. Plus, Trev & Joe discuss the new rumors about the potentially worrisome reason Rupert Wyatt quit the Gambit movie. Meanwhile, during all of this, the guys struggle to stay on the topic of X, as they also get into their thoughts on Diet Mountain Dew, Mean Girls Day, Trevor Noah's first week at the Daily Show, Doctor Who companions, Johnny Depp, and so much more. That's right...if you're a big fan of tangents, this is the episode of Days of Future Podcast for you!

Following an unplanned hiatus, Trev & Joe are finally back. After an apology and explanation of the "missing episode," the guys dive into the latest X-news: the Gambit movie loses its director, new pictures from X-Men: Apocalypse hit the web, and mutants and Inhumans go to war in the comic books. Also, the guys debut a brand new segment, Actor X-Change, in which they attempt to assign X-characters to particular actors. Not to mention, they share their long-awaited thoughts on the new Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

In this episode, Trev X-amines this summer's gigantic Secret Wars crossover, valiantly attempting to summarize the story-line, as well as letting X-fans know which particular mutant-related titles within the event they should be checking out. But first, Joe is shocked by how little he cares about Colossus during his big X-men catch-up, and "Magneto as hero" versus "Magneto as villain" is discussed. Also, the guys ponder a world with no Internet, and try to decide whether they'd rather meet President Clinton or President Obama.

At last, it's here. After months of teases and threats, the guys have finally made it official, debuting a brand-new spin-off podcast-within-a-podcast, Chatting Tatum! Not surprisingly, this installment's topic of discussion is the recent controversy regarding Channing almost leaving the Gambit movie. How did the guys take the news, and how do they feel about Tatum in its aftermath? But first - Trev has actually seen the new Fantastic Four movie, and he and Joe discuss both the general reaction to the movie and what it might mean for the rumored X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover film. Also, the guys give back, and answer some listener questions. So give us a listen, and let Trev & Joe Channing all over YOUR Tatum.

In this special after-hours episode of Days of Future Podcast, Trev watches and reviews "X-Men XXX: An Axel Braun Parody." With its comic accurate costumes and impressive team roster, is it possible this porn parody is more true to the source material than the Fox movies? And, more importantly, DO the X-Men use their mutant powers while getting it on? These questions and more are answered, as Trev proves he has no shame. But first, the guys discuss who they would share newly acquired mutant powers with, and Joe drops some X-Crement, as he takes issue with the preponderance of evil teams in the X-Universe.

In the most timely episode yet, Trev & Joe take a look at all the X-Men movie news to come out of the 20th Century Fox panel at this past weekend's San Diego Comic Con. What do the guys think of the incredibly well-received Deadpool trailer? Do they believe Hugh Jackman is really done playing Wolverine? How excited are they to see Storm's mohawk in X-Men: Apocalypse? All this and, perhaps most importantly, some thoughts on Channing Tatum's Gambit haircut. Finally, some quick discussion about other, non X-Men related Comic Con news. We promise this podcast is the next best thing to actually being at San Diego Comic Con!*

In 2001, producer Avi Arad and Marvel Studios brought the world "Mutant X," a sci-fi television series VERY LOOSELY connected to the X-Men comics (due to legal issues). Despite its tangential-at-best connection to the X-Universe, Trev and Joe have decided to give the show its day, by watching and reporting on both the pilot and the 66th and final episode (we'll leave it to some other X-Men podcast to bother with the other 64). But first, the guys discuss Joe's recent Emmy win, current news events and how they relate to the X-Men, and Rupert Wyatt being announced as the "Gambit" director (mostly just an excuse to swoon over Channing Tatum, yet again). Plus, the guys make a pitch to Vice President Joe Biden that, quite frankly, he would be a fool to turn down. Join the campaign! #BidenForDOFP

Back in the summer of 1996, after years of teases, the X-traitor was finally revealed, in one of the biggest crossover events in X-Men history....ONSLAUGHT! Now, 19 years later, in this super-sized episode, Trev & Joe are ready to discuss this moment, even at the cost of their own sanity. Listen as the guys bravely attempt to summarize and analyze one of the craziest events in X-history, as well as its even crazier fallout, the infamous Heroes Reborn. Even if you're not that interested in the story, maybe you'll enjoy listening to the two lose their minds as they struggle to adequately recap a gigantic, and at times baffling story, that even today sends shivers down the spines of many comic readers.

This week, Trev & Joe discuss Marvel's alleged plans to permanently send all mutants to outer space following this summer's big Secret Wars event. Interesting move, or potential franchise destroyer? Plus, the guys struggle to answer a listener question about what as-yet unexplored powers they would like to see added to the X-books, confirming how hard it really is to write comics. Also, some discussion about Caliban being confirmed for X-Men: Apocalypse, and speculation about who will be the villain in the third (and final??) Wolverine movie. And, for no good reason, an X-Men themed podcast kicks off with much discussion about David Letterman's retirement and the current Late Night TV landscape.

In the second Fan Commentary episode, Trev & Joe provide a running commentary for Bryan Singer's 2003 sequel, the very loose "God Loves, Man Kills" adaptation, X2: X-MEN UNITED. Babyface Wolverine, inexplicably scarred Nightcrawler, accent-less Storm, and useless-as-all-hell Cyclops - all are discussed, as we revisit this much beloved entry in the franchise and see if it still holds up today. NOTE: Again, while it might be fun to watch the movie along with the guys during this commentary, it is certainly not a requirement.

This week, Trev & Joe review Avengers: Age of Ultron, specifically focusing (or at least TRYING to specifically focus) on Aaron Taylor-Johnson's portrayal of Quicksilver. How accurate is it to the comics, and how does it stack up against Evan Peters' Quicksilver, from X-Men: Days of Future Past? But first, the guys discuss the recent big reveal regarding Iceman in the comics, Olivia Munn's casting as Psylocke, and the first '80s-riffic character photos from X-Men: Apocalypse.

This week, Trev & Joe discuss mutant powers = which powers would they consider necessary to form an effective X-Men team, and which powers would be most and least desirable in real life? But first, discussion of the addition of Jubilee to the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, and Hugh Jackman's time as Wolverine beginning to wind down. Also, the guys answer some listener-submitted X-tra Stupid Questions of the Week, covering which mutants would be best suited to appear in a Latin American soap opera, and which X-Men smell the worst and the best.

Back in 1995, comic fans were treated to one of the biggest events in X-Men history, Age of Apocalypse. In this week's super-sized episode, Trev & Joe celebrate the mega-event's twentieth anniversary by taking a look back at various titles that made up the story, and share their own personal lists for Best & Worst Characters, Best & Worst Costume Redesigns, Coolest Covers, and Favorite Moments. But first, the guys pitch hypothetical HBO documentaries about the X-Men, and try to cast the characters of Saved by the Bell as X-Men.

Did you know Bryan Singer's "X-Men" was NOT the first X-Universe movie? Perhaps rightfully forgotten, Marvel's Merry Mutants made their live-action debut back in 1996, in the FOX TV movie "Generation X," an adaptation of the then mega-popular comic series about the younger generation of future X-Men. We watched it, so you don't have to, and this week we have an in-depth discussion about this unsuccessful (on so many levels) attempt at capturing the X-Universe on film. But first, we ponder Ben Hardy's potential role in "X:Men: Apocalypse," and debut a new segment, X-Tra Stupid Question of the Week, this time speculating on which X-Man would make the best retail manager. Plus, we get ready for our upcoming Age of Apocalypse episode, by looking at the lead-in story, Legion Quest.

In this special episode, Trev & Joe provide a running audio commentary for Bryan Singer's X-Men (2000), X-amining the film's highlights and lowlights. Wolverine's hair, Rogue's re-invention, Storm's questionable accent, and Magneto's clacking balls...all this and more are discussed, incuding the casting decisions that could have been, and how the movie holds up to today's glut of superhero films. NOTE: While it might be fun to watch the movie along with the guys during this commentary, it is certainly not a requirement.

In this mini-episode, Trev & Joe discuss some of the recent casting news regarding X-Men: Apocalypse and Deadpool, giving their opinions on the actors officially cast, and speculating on the characters mentioned in the leaked Deadpool casting sheet. But first, a brief (and completely off-topic) rememberance of the 2010 Conan/Leno Late Night War, and opinions on which X-Man would make the best Saturday Night Live host.

Feb 23, 2015

In this episode, Trev and Joe make a blatant grab for higher ratings by taking an in-depth look at the most popular X-character of all time, Wolverine, and examining (or X-amining) the differences between his comic and film incarnations. But first, some discussion about Rose Byrne returning to the role of Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse, and the recent announcement that writer Brian Michael Bendis is soon leaving the X-books. Also, in another edition of X-Crement, Joe shares his confusion about Professor Xavier's seemingly unlimited budget.

In the first Days of Future Podcast Mini-Episode, Trev and Joe take a look at the failed 1989 animated X-Men pilot, Pryde of the X-Men. Stan Lee's mutant racism, Australian Wolverine's inexplicable anger, and the shocking connection between X-Men and Rugrats...it's all discussed here!

Feb 9, 2015

In this episode, Trev and Joe take an in-depth and head-scratching look at one of the oddest X-characters of all time: Madelyne Pryor, the Jean Grey clone. But first, the guys ponder why all-powerful mutants would choose to wear bright spandex costumes, and briefly discuss Night of the Sentinels, the pilot episode of the classic 1992 X-Men animated series. Plus, in the first edition of the new regular segment, X-Crement, Trev shares his frustration and confusion with Mystique's shape-shifting powers.
