After an unexpected break, we have finally returned, and we're diving back into the X-Men comic world for an in-depth look at one of the most popular Wolverine stories of all time. That's right, it's finally time to x-amine OLD MAN LOGAN, from superstar creators Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. In this future-set tale, we meet an older, broken Logan, who has not popped his claws in fifty years, and lives a quiet family life in a supervillain-controlled America with no more superheroes. What led to Logan's new pacifist stance? And will a mysterious mission with an elderly, nearly-blind Hawkeye bring back the Wolverine we all know and love? We run through all eight issues of this classic 2008 event, sharing our thoughts on both the highlights and some of the more questionable elements.

But first, a brief discussion of the current ugliness plaguing the world of fandom, as well as our take on the surprising fallout of the recently released X-MEN: GOLD #30, featuring the long-awaited wedding of Kitty Pryde and Colossus. Or did it??

The much anticipated DEADPOOL 2 is finally here, and so is our slightly less anticipated review episode! What did we think of the second entry in the DEADPOOL cinematic universe? Was it as funny and/or groundbreaking as the first? Were we satisfied with the depiction of Cable, Domino, and the other new characters? And did it leave us excited for more movies starring the Merc with a Mouth? All of these questions and more will be answered as we share our thoughts on what is now 2018's ONLY X-Film! Needless to say...SPOILERS.

It's almost time for DEADPOOL 2, and we're neck deep in Deadpool promotion and hype. In the spirit of the sequel's (once again) excellent marketing, we decided to do an on-mic taste test of various Deadpool related food tie-ins. So prepare to hear us try out the special Mutant Super Soda Red Dawn Slurpee from 7-11, the Chicken Cordon Bleu Mac & Cheese and Sweet & Smoky Angus Beef microwave dinners from Devour, and Mike's Harder Lemonade and Mike's Harder Lemonade Mango.

We also discuss the new Celine Dion song and music video, "Ashes," recorded just for DEADPOOL 2. We then share our predictions on what we might see in the film itself, as well as our always impressive and dead-on box office predictions. Also, better late than never, our thoughts on AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

NOTE: This episode was recorded hours before NBC's renewal of BROOKLYN NINE NINE. Obviously.

We're back with another installment of our audio commentary series, this time taking a look at that OTHER Logan movie from director James Mangold. That's right, it's time to revisit 2013's THE WOLVERINE, the second (and arguably somewhat forgotten) solo Wolverine film. After X-MEN: FIRST CLASS had put the X-Men film franchise back on track, this entry was under a lot of pressure to not only keep the hot streak going, but also to erase memories of the previous solo film, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. To do so, the filmmakers turned to a classic fan favorite story/setting, as the movie chronicle's Wolverine's adventures in Japan. While it might not be as beloved as LOGAN, this film is still a necessary step to get to that epic finale...but how does it hold up as stand-alone movie in its own right? Listen on to find out, and hear our thoughts on the film and its ultimate place in the franchise. As usual with our commentaries, watching along with us is recommended, but certainly not required.

Do you believe in life after love? First up this episode, we examine that question in a special (but somber) edition of "Chatting Tatum," as we discuss the recent news regarding Channing's personal life. Then, on a more positive note, Joe shares his thoughts on the Marvel Knights 2010 miniseries "Angel: Revelations."

Next, as crazy as the idea of an "X-Men podcast" might sound, that hasn't stopped Marvel and Stitcher from launching the recent audio drama, WOLVERINE: THE LONG NIGHT. We've listened to the early episodes, and we're here to tell you what we think about this experiment in a new form of X-Men storytelling. Finally, we review the first two episodes of LEGION Season Two. Is the show still as wild and inventive as before? Listen on to find out!

In this episode, we take a look at the 3-D's...Deadpool, Donald Glover, and delays. First up, we discuss the brand-new trailer for DEADPOOL 2, analyzing the sights and jokes, and whether or not it has made us any more excited for the film. Next up, we cover the news that Donald Glover's animated Deadpool series is no longer a go at FX, which was most surprising in that it reminded us that Donald Glover was going to have an animated Deadpool series on FX. Finally, we share our thoughts on the recently announced release date delays of X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX and NEW MUTANTS (again!). What do we think this means for Fox's X-MEN movie universe? Listen on to find out.

A new tradition is potentially born, with our first annual Mutant March Madness episode. Who is the greatest X-Men character of all time? It's a subjective question, one that is probably impossible to really answer. But that doesn't mean we won't try, with a special tournament pitting 64 of the most famous X-characters of all time against each other to determine just who is the best. Factors that determine victory include strength, uniqueness, visual design, and - if all else fails - who would probably win in a game of one-on-one basketball. Listen in as we debate each match-up based on a randomly selected first round...and only one of us can choose the winner of each contest. Possibly controversial, and certainly contentious (at times), this one was a lot of fun, so sit back and enjoy this super-sized episode as we use some of the loosest logic possible to decide just who reigns supreme in the X-Men universe.

So we finally might know why THE NEW MUTANTS has been delayed a full year, and apparently it is to add an entirely new character to the film in reshoots. In this episode, we speculate who the new addition might be, as well as what a move like this might mean for the current state of the movie in general.

But first, we look at the recent controversial proposal to arm teachers, and try our best to connect it to the world of the X-Men. Plus, we discuss the recent announcement that AVENGERS:INFINITY WAR's US release is being bumped up a week, and address the theory that DEADPOOL 2's release date had something to do with this. All this, plus A LOT of talk about SAVED BY THE BELL, including an intense debate over which had the better theme song, the original show or THE COLLEGE YEARS.

After over a year of watching the X-Men and other mutant teams deal with the devastating fallout of 2005's "House of M," in which the mutant population was decimated, in 2007 a three-part saga was commenced to finally pay off and bring to a climax the events set into motion by that event. In this episode, we look at the first part of that saga, the 2007 crossover event "Messiah Complex," which sees the X-Men, the Purifiers, and Mister Sinister's Marauders all fighting to gain control of the first mutant birth since "House of M." Except, what they don't know is that a thought-dead former X-Man actually has the baby...and another trusted teammate is about to betray them all in an attempt to destroy the child. "Messiah Complex" was the beginning of a new era for the X-Men, simultaneously bringing hope (literally, even) back to the mutant universe, while also kicking off an even darker, more violent tone that the books had previously seen. We discuss it all, with an in-depth discussion of the event.

But first, our thoughts on the new DEADPOOL 2 trailer, and we speculate about the recent news that Brian Michael Bendis will be teaming with Tim Miller for a mysterious X-MEN movie currently known only as "143." Plus, Trev shares his quick thoughts on BLACK PANTHER, and Joe tries very hard not to die from pure joy, as this is a very Cable-heavy episode.

In this episode, we tackle one of the most debated topics in the world of comic books: death and resurrection. As the X-MEN comics (again) bring back a number of previously deceased characters, we discuss whether this sort of storytelling tactic is still exciting and worthwhile, or just an unnecessary cheat that has devalued the narrative impact of character fates.

But first, we address a mistake we made during our review of THE GIFTED, and discuss the historical significance of LOGAN's Oscar nomination (while also trying to remember a bet we once made about the very topic). All this, plus arguably way too much talk about MTV, FRIENDS, and STAR WARS.

The first season of Fox's THE GIFTED is now in the books, which means it's time for us to take a look at the full first season. What did we think of this television take on the world of the X-Men? What worked? What didn't? Who were our favorite characters? And are we excited for the already announced second season? We answer it all, in a comprehensive discussion of the X-Men show that isn't LEGION.

But first, we ponder if the MULTIPLE MAN movie will still happen in the wake of James Franco's #TimesUp controversy, speculate on whether DEADPOOL director Tim Miller will really end up making a KITTY PRYDE movie, and try to figure out the meaning behind the recently announced release date shake-up of Fox's upcoming X-films...including a brand new episode of our podcast-within-a-podcast, "Chatting Tatum," where we also discuss GAMBIT losing ANOTHER director. All this, and more.

After a holiday break, we're back to ring in the new year, with a whole batch of predictions for 2018. What do we believe will happen in the world of X-MEN (the movies, books, and TV) this year? Listen on to find out.

But first, discussion of the new EXILES comic series, how the recent T.J. Miller controversy might affect DEADPOOL 2, and some late recasting in LEGION season 2. Plus, talk of BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE X-FILES, THE BOONDOCK SAINTS, cold weather, and our thoughts on STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. Because it might be a new year, but this is still the same tangent filled show!

On this episode, we take a look at the newly released Entertainment Weekly issue that...WAIT, HOLY CRAP, THAT DISNEY DEAL IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. That's right, after an episode in which we dismissed talks of Disney buying 20th Century Fox as probably just rumors, we now face a reality where it looks to be an almost certainty. So we revisit this discussion, analyzing the repercussions for both the X-MEN movie franchise and the entertainment landscape in general. Why are so many X-MEN fans excited about this? Should they be? We offer our thoughts, which might surprise many.

THEN, we look at the Entertainment Weekly issue that offers our first sustained look at X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, which might now be the final film in this iteration of the franchise. We've been pretty ambivalent about this movie since it was first announced - did these first official images and story details change our minds?

Plus, talk of new allegations involving Bryan Singer, the newly announced scripted Wolverine podcast, and the NEW MUTANTS theatrical poster. All this and more, in perhaps our most contentious episode ever.

In this special Thanksgiving-themed episode (kinda?), we give thanks for a whole bunch of new X-MEN movie news to discuss. First, we discuss the just announced casting of Lizzy Caplan in the upcoming GAMBIT movie (which, of course, stars Channing Tatum). Who is Caplan playing? Most signs point to Remy's estranged ex-wife Belladonna, but what about the speculation that she could actually be the new cinematic Rogue? We give our thoughts. Then, we share our (complicated?) reaction to the new DEADPOOL 2 "teaser." And we also ponder the surprising announcement of the development of a MULTIPLE MAN movie, starring James Franco. Where the heck did this one come from?

In this episode, we discuss the recent rumors of Disney buying 20th Century Fox, and what it would mean for the X-MEN franchise in particular. Would it be a good or bad thing for Marvel's merry mutants? What kind of films would we expect to see? And how easily would the X-MEN franchise fit into the existing MCU? We examine all of these questions, as well as each share the three X-MEN movies we would greenlight first if WE were allowed to shepherd the franchise into the MCU.

But first, we share our thoughts on the recent Hollywood controversy swirling around X-MEN director/producer Bryan Singer, and what it means for us fans of the franchise. Plus, we take a look at the announcement of a brand new X-Men monthly comic series, starring a classic returning character; we discuss the brand new DEADPOOL 2 poster; and we give our take on former X-Men writer Brian Michael Bendis jumping from Marvel to DC. Also, we give our brief THOR: RAGNAROK review. All this, and more!

In our third annual Halloween special, we're taking a look at a spooky-scary X-Men oddity from 1968. No doubt inspired by the monster craze of the time, issue 40 of the initial X-MEN run sees the original team doing battle with none other than Frankenstein's Monster. But is this monster truly the same creature from Mary Shelley's novel, or something else entirely? And, perhaps more importantly, who is the REAL monster of the story...Frankenstein's Monster, or Professor X?? Join us for a page by page breakdown of this frightening (not really) X-Men adventure.

But first, we try to remember what exactly we talked about on our previous Halloween specials, discuss recent news about an X-23 script being developed, and offer our suggestions for some unique, unexpected X-Men Halloween costumes. All this and more, in the spookiest episode of the year!

It's Trev & Joe vs The Inhumans, on a special bonus episode of Days of Future Podcast. That's right, we're temporarily putting aside Marvel's merry mutants to instead focus on their would-be successors, as we record a live audio commentary while watching - for the first time - the much maligned pilot episode of ABC's Marvel's THE INHUMANS TV series. Could it really be as bad as the hype suggests? We aim to find out. NOTE: This is less a screen-specific commentary, and more a document of two guys being very confused about what they are seeing. We can't guarantee this is one of our best episodes...but if you've ever wanted to hear us baffled and close to losing our minds, this might be the episode for you.

We've seen FOX's new X-Men TV series, THE GIFTED, and we're here to report back on the x-perience. With FX's LEGION setting a high standard for X-related TV, and multiple questions surrounding its timeline and characters, does this new weekly take on Marvel's merry mutants live up to its full potential? Find out our thoughts, in an in-depth discussion of the first two episodes.

But first, a look at the brand new trailer for Josh Boone's THE NEW MUTANTS, excitement over Ta-Nehisi Coates working on an upcoming Storm ongoing title, and - in a long awaited and eagerly anticipated new edition of "Chatting Tatum" - we discuss the announcement of a new GAMBIT director AND a new official release date. With Trev finally caught up on the X-Men comics universe, it's a perfect time for him to share his thoughts on the new batch of titles that were launched as part of Marvel's "X-Men ResurrXion" event. X-MEN: GOLD, X-MEN: BLUE, GENERATION X, WEAPON X, JEAN GREY, ICEMAN, CABLE, and ASTONISHING X-MEN - Trev gives his complete breakdown of the good and bad of each title, as well as his overall take on the current state of the X-Men comic franchise.

But first, discussion of Olivia Munn potentially leaking a major bit of X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX news, and the rumored GAMBIT plot synopsis. Plus, Trev & Joe pay their respects to the recently departed Len Wein, the creator of Wolverine and without a doubt one of the most important creators in X-Men history. All this, and much more!

With geek icon Joss Whedon recently in the news for...well, let's just say "reasons," there's probably no better time than now to re-examine his classic X-Men epic, the Eisner Award winning "Astonishing X-Men." In 2004, in the wake of Grant Morrison's groundbreaking "New X-Men" run, Marvel was looking for another superstar writer to take the reins of their merry mutants, and bring the X-Men back to a more classic direction. Enter the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER creator Whedon, who - along with incredible artist John Cassaday - delivered one of the biggest and most beloved runs of the franchise ever. Now, Trev & Joe look back at Whedon and Cassady's entire "Astonishing X-Men" run, re-visiting each of the four main story-lines, how they feel about the arc's classic moments (including an unforgettable resurrection), and which characters they feel Whedon handled particularly well. Plus, some discussion of how recent revelations about Whedon the man might influence how fans now regard this and other Whedon works.

But first - talk of Jessica Chastain's recent bombshell that she is NOT playing Lilandra in X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX (including speculation of who she must be playing instead), rumors of Fox being unsure of Simon Kinberg's directorial skills, and the big news that Drew Goddard will write and direct the now confirmed X-FORCE movie. All this, and more!

Trev and Joe are finally back with a brand new episode, to share their thoughts on the first pictures of Josh Brolin as Cable (one of Joe's favorite characters, and a character that Trev is certainly aware of!). Do the pictures live up to expectations? The guys give their take, as well as offer those less aware of Cable a brief refresher on his origins, and examine why him and Deadpool make such a compelling duo in the comics.

But first, some discussion about the recent tragedy on the set of DEADPOOL 2, speculation about Jennifer Lawrence's role in X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, and, in a long-awaited new installment of "Chatting Tatum," a look at recent comments from Channing Tatum about the current status of GAMBIT. Also, thoughts on the recent season of GAME OF THRONES, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, and a surprising amount of talk about the classic Paul Rudd/Seann William Scott vehicle ROLE MODELS. Why? Why not?

With Trev back from San Diego Comic Con, we discuss the X-related aspects of the event. What does the lack of X-Men movie announcements from Fox say about the state of the franchise? Did the second trailer for THE GIFTED do a better job selling the show? And what did Trev learn about the upcoming X-Men comics at the Resurrxion panel? All these questions answered, and more.

Plus, we take a look at the first picture of Zazie Beetz as Domino in the upcoming DEADPOOL 2, and Joe shares his thoughts on the "End of Greys" Uncanny X-Men storyline starring Rachel Grey. Also, some talk of the early INHUMANS TV show reviews (spoiler alert: it ain't pretty), and some brief discussion of WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER and the magic of Kyle MacLachlan.

In the long awaited new installment of our commentary series, Trev & Joe are joined by good buddy (and fellow X-Nerd) Tom, to provide a running audio commentary for Matthew Vaughn's X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. In the wake of X3 and X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, a lot of fans had written the franchise off by the time this prequel/reboot was announced. However, Vaughn's film turned out to be just the shot in the arm the series needed at the time. What exactly makes this film work so well, and why does it still remain one of the most unique and special entries in the franchise? Join us as we watch the film and x-plore those very questions. As usual with our commentaries, watching along with us is recommended, but certainly not required.

With San Diego Comic Con right around the corner, we spend the bulk of this episode trying to predict what X-Men movie news and announcements Fox will possibly make during their big panel. We also give our guesses on what we'll actually be seeing on each of the mysterious, recently announced Fox-Marvel movie dates over the next few years.

But first, apologies over a mistake from last episode, and our reaction to recent rumors regarding Magneto's role in the upcoming X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX. Plus, some discussion about Alice Braga replacing Rosario Dawson as Cecilia Reyes in the NEW MUTANTS movie, and what this says about the larger issue regarding representation in Hollywood films. Also, Trev shares his thoughts on SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, we examine the unfortunate INHUMANS trailer, and we pay our tributes regarding the passing of Joan Lee, the wife of X-Men creator Stan Lee.

Join us for a special look at the 2005 Marvel event, HOUSE OF M, which brought together the Astonishing X-Men and New Avengers for an epic tale involving Marvel's heroes stuck in an alternate reality where mutants are the majority, and Magneto is earth's ruler. How did this happen? What were the ramifications? And does the story hold up even today? All of this and more is discussed.

But first, we open up another fan-sent package, and share our thoughts on physical comic collecting. Then we discuss our thoughts on Dazzler appearing in X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, as well as the other rumored new characters and what their additions might mean for the movie.
